This movie was wonderful. I don't what the other people's problem is, except to say that have watched too much modern "horror" movies and have become desensitized. Look, the bottom line is THIS IS NOT HORROR. Which is good, because the horror movies lately have no concept story or suspense. They think good films are measured in buckets of blood and bodycount. This movie is a suspense, and it does a great job.

Stephen King, must you creep me out so much? Yes you must, Mr. King. This movie adaptation was one of the scariest things I have seen in film in a long time, it's a classic psychological thriller full of suspense that'll keep you on your toes until the end.

I've seen many scary movies before and none of them got me like this one did. Maybe it was the psychiatry of the film, but something about it was amazing and terrifying. Defiantly the best remake of a Stephen King novel, that I have seen!

I love John Cusack movies and this one is no exception. I loved it!!!! Not gory scary, but more like a thriller.

Don't let this adaptation of Stephen King's 1999 short story fool you - this is no ordinary ghost story. For "1408" is not just "scary" in the normative sense. This is a movie that is terrifying on a very cerebral, existential, and even metaphysical level. To say that the movie "entertained" me would be quite the understatement. What's present is such a multi-layered and endlessly fascinating deconstruction of humanity's perception of things that we take for granted (like time, space, place, etc.) and other things like loss, grief, and fear. It's a magnificently staged film with a powerful central set of thematics and a devoted performance from John Cusack. Definitely one of the more notable Stephen King adaptations I've seen.
